I breathe deeply, my head reeling,
losing control in my quest for
a spring fix.
I grab a cart, start down the outside aisle,
grabbing purple masses of blooms.
Speeding up, seeing the perfect geranium,
Careening around the corner.
Pushing in front of people,
all manners and civility forgotten
in my attempts to feed my passion and need for
the succulent sage, the royal rose, the perfect pansy.
Get me out of this garden center
before I do permanent damage
to more than my bank account.
