Hello everyone. I am presently in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, attending the Ozark Writers Conference. As many of you know, I met three women from Arkansas when I was at the Story Circle Network Conference in Austin, Texas, in the spring of 2012. They invited me to come and visit them and perhaps attend a conference or two at the same time, so here I am.
I arrived last Tuesday and spent two days with one of my friends in the Ozarks near Jasper, Arkansas. From the deck of their vacation home, the view is of tree-covered mountains, valleys, and many unique rock formations. In the morning, the fog covers the area down by the river, but the sun burns off the fog as the day warms. The leaves of the sumac and gum trees are a rich red, and the hickory and oak trees are just starting to turn golden.
Tomorrow I travel to the Fayetteville/Rogers/Bentonville area. Bentonville is best known as the head office of Wal-Mart. I will continue this post in a few days.
